Thai Bodywork

Thai Bodywork is an amazing, unique form of bodywork. Tension in our mind transforms into tensions in our body. Therapeutic touch can help transform physical and mental dis-ease. In a Thai Bodywork session, your only job is to be heavy and breathe. It may sound easy, but it takes a lot for us to really let go and let somebody else take care of us.

Kayla studied 6 weeks in Thailand and can't wait to go back to learn more! From studying with Pichest Boonthamme, experiencing Dr. Ta's sen line work, making traditional Thai herbal compresses, learning Traditional Thai Medicine Theory, and participating in a 2 day silent meditation retreat - Kayla is committed to expanding her knowledge on this amazing healing form of bodywork.

Traditional Thai

Thai Bodywork is practiced fully clothed, on a mat on the floor, and may appear closer to passive yoga than massage therapy. You will be pulled, twisted, and stretched in all sorts of ways. Thai Bodywork can be gentle and therapeutic, or it can be a stronger, more challenging experience. 

Every session is different depending on the persons body's needs at that time. There may be use of balms, liniments, herbal compresses, or other therapies that are used in the Thai practice. 

$110 for 75 minute session

Abdominal Thai Massage

In Thai medical theory, the abdomen is the central mind of our body, it’s function determines our health. Abdominal massage focuses on the abdomen, including the breathing muscles and the pelvis.

 

Based on the Thai tradition, the treatment works layer by layer to remove restrictions and allow optimal flow of lymph, blood, nerves, and energy to our vital organs. This treatment can have a subtle or powerful impact on many illnesses, not limited to all things digestive, menstrual and reproductive related, low back and pelvic pain, headaches, migraines, and more. Can be a very meditative and relaxing experience.

 

More examples of how it can specifically help. -Abdominal massage can help mothers in their 4th trimester after having a child because everything gets moved, shifted, and rearranged.

-A lot of the symptoms of menopause can be lessened if there's consistent abdominal work because it helps balance the pelvis and hormones.

-Abdominal massage is great for men to avoid prostate issues later in life.

-Sometimes it can help issues with conceiving because after abdominal work there's actually space to bring a life in.
